Altaïr’s Notebooks

Learning follows curiosity, not the other way around

Why start from the student’s questions rather than from a fixed pathway?

Why does the sky change color? How does a seed become a plant? Why do we have to learn fractions? At any age, a question can open an enormous door. It reveals an interest, an intuition, sometimes the beginnings of reasoning.

Curiosity is not a detour in learning. It can be its starting point. When young people try to understand something that intrigues them, they are not just receiving information: they make connections, form hypotheses and begin to build their own understanding.

Learning at school also takes method, consistency and effort. But the desire to understand can give meaning to that effort and encourage students to persevere.

At Altaïr Education, we are convinced that curiosity is an essential driver of learning. Each student builds their understanding in their own way, following a path that does not always match the one the adult had in mind. Some need concrete examples, others need step-by-step questioning or links to their own interests to fully take ownership of a concept.

Our digital educational tool was designed to support students’ work and offer them help with their learning. The aim is not to replace teaching, but to give them an additional way to explore, understand and make progress.

Curiosity does not replace knowledge. It can make you want to acquire it.
