ADHD and learning: making schoolwork easier to follow
Attention deficit disorder, with or without hyperactivity (ADHD), can affect the way a student approaches schoolwork to varying degrees. Depending on the situation, it may be hard for them to stay focused, keep several steps in mind, or pick up the thread of an instruction.
This says nothing about their abilities or their desire to learn. A task may simply require significant organizational effort, on top of the content to be understood.
Clear instructions, a well-defined goal, and visible steps can help some students find their bearings. Being able to look at a piece of information again or go back over a step can also be useful.
These principles are not reserved for students with ADHD. They can benefit many students, while still needing to be adapted to each one’s needs.
At Altaïr Education, we believe learning should be able to adapt to the diversity of the ways minds work. With the customizable settings in the parent area and an artificial intelligence designed to support reasoning step by step, Altaïr aims to offer students with ADHD a learning environment that is more flexible, more accessible, and respectful of their pace. The goal is to make understanding easier, support independence, and preserve the joy of learning, without imposing a single path to get there.
Altaïr does not treat ADHD and does not replace the educational or professional support a young person may need.
What matters most is finding the conditions that allow them to understand what they need to do, draw on their abilities, and make progress with the adults around them.
